YOUNG PEOPLES COUNSELLING
Supporting Young People Through Lifes Challenges
Young people can experience a wide range of emotional and life challenges, including anxiety, low mood, self-esteem difficulties, friendship issues, family changes, and emotional overwhelm.
Counselling provides a safe, confidential space to explore these feelings at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive.
Supporting Adults, Young People and Schools
Play in Therapy
A child’s natural way of communicating is often through play. I use play-based and creative approaches to help children express thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to put into words. This can make counselling feel more natural, engaging, and less overwhelming.
Creative Expression
I integrate art, drawing, sound therapy, and other creative methods to support emotional expression. These tools allow children and young people to explore experiences safely and at their own pace.
Mindfulness and Emotion Regulation
Simple mindfulness and grounding techniques can help children and young people recognise emotions, manage anxiety, and build practical coping strategies for everyday life.
Traditional Talk Therapy
Young people’s counselling offers a safe, confidential space for children and teenagers to talk about whatever is on their mind. Sessions are led by the young person at their own pace and focus on helping them make sense of thoughts, feelings, and experiences without pressure or judgement.
WHAT WE CAN WORK ON
Whatever’s weighing on you
People come to counselling for all kinds of reasons. You don’t need the “right” words or a diagnosis to begin — just a sense that something could feel lighter.
Anxiety & overwhelm
Racing thoughts, constant worry, or feeling permanently “on” — and ways to find steadier ground.
Low mood & depression
When motivation, energy or hope feel out of reach, and you’re not sure how you got here.
Trauma
Gently making sense of the past — at a pace that always feels safe, never rushed.
Stress & burnout
Running on empty from work, caring, or simply carrying too much for too long.
Grief & loss
Space to grieve a person, a relationship, or a version of life you expected — in your own way.
Self-esteem & identity
Building a kinder relationship with yourself, and exploring who you are — including neurodivergence.
Calm, candid moment
