ADULT COUNSELLING

Helping adults feel heard

One-to-one counselling for adults — whether you’re moving through a difficult time, or simply need room to breathe and reconnect with yourself.

50-minute sessions  ·  In person in Durham & online  ·

A SPACE THAT’S YOURS

Time to pause, reflect & reconnect

Life can leave us carrying a lot — and it’s easy to lose touch with ourselves along the way.

Adult counselling gives you a calm, confidential space to explore whatever feels heavy, at your own pace. There’s no script and nothing you “should” be feeling — just time set aside for you, where you don’t have to hold it all on your own.

WHAT WE CAN WORK ON

Whatever’s weighing on you

People come to counselling for all kinds of reasons. You don’t need the “right” words or a diagnosis to begin — just a sense that something could feel lighter.

Anxiety & overwhelm

Racing thoughts, constant worry, or feeling permanently “on” — and ways to find steadier ground.

Low mood & depression

When motivation, energy or hope feel out of reach, and you’re not sure how you got here.

Trauma

Gently making sense of the past — at a pace that always feels safe, never rushed.

Stress & burnout

Running on empty from work, caring, or simply carrying too much for too long.

Grief & loss

Space to grieve a person, a relationship, or a version of life you expected — in your own way.

Self-esteem & identity

Building a kinder relationship with yourself, and exploring who you are — including neurodivergence.

Calm, candid moment

We meet for 50 minutes, in person at Durham Workspace or online — whichever feels easier for you. Sessions are usually weekly to begin with, though we’ll find a rhythm that suits your life.

  • A warm, unhurried welcome — no pressure to “perform”
  • You set the direction; I offer reflections, tools, or a listening space
  • Confidential, and free to move at your pace — no obligation to continue

YOUR COUNSELLOR

Hello, I’m Toni

A person-centred counsellor (MBACP) supporting adults and young people across schools, universities, charities and online throughout the UK.

As someone who is neurodivergent myself, I know that everyone experiences the world differently — so I work in a way that adapts to you, rather than asking you to fit a method.

  • Registered BACP member — working within its ethical framework
  • Degree in Healthcare Practice
  • Additional training in trauma healing, mind-body wellbeing & play therapy
